Hi there! I’m Stevey Jones, but my students call me Mr. Stevey. For over five years, I’ve traveled to Florida’s libraries, parks, museums, and schools to help children “feel better so they can learn better.” I created my method because I believe every child — regardless of their circumstances — deserves a toolbox full of calm and courage. Our journey begins with a story of two brave foster children who discover that a single breath and a little paint can change their world. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or neighbor, I invite you to breathe deep and join our mission.

Meet Mr. Stevey

Stevey Jones is the heart behind the Mr. Stevey & Friends program. As a teaching artist with a background in journalism and physical education, his work is deeply personal, rooted in his own experiences within the foster care system. Since 2021, he has partnered with the Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation to bring high-quality art education, early literacy, and mindful play to historically excluded communities. His debut book is an invitation to join this beautiful journey of resilience, ensuring every child — no matter their background — has the tools to thrive through art, literacy and mindful play.
